Servo Turnout/Point Actuator

£9.00

This turnout/point actuator has been designed for silky smooth operation.
The actuator uses an SG90 servo motor and eccentric drive to transmit the rotary output of the servo into a smooth linear output. It comes supplied fully assembled and tested with a servo.

2 x 1.5 (nominal) diameter pin holes have been provided to suit either a single or double pin drive to suit the intended application.
Drive pins are not provided with the actuator as each will have their own preference, but brass rod or piano wire of a diameter to suit your chosen turnout type can be secured with superglue.
Most customers using PECO or similar turnouts will use a single drive, however the pin hole centres have been spaced at 17.5mm to suit hand-built turnouts built to 18.83mm gauge (P4 standards).

This version of the device features does not feature a microswitch. Should you require frog polarity switching then consider one of the other actuators from the range.

A mounting template is included in the instructions and mounting holes can be pilot-drilled from above the baseboard to simplify fitting.

The geometry of the mounting holes and drive pin spacing is consistent across the range, so should it be necessary to change to an alternative switch combination then this can be readily achieved without realignment problems.

A dedicated electronic control system for these actuators will be available in due course, but all commonly available servo controllers will operate these units well.
